This
would be a lovely little gift for a friend who likes pins,
you
can also tie it to a gift for a special tag.

Basic gingerbread man minus eyes and ribbon
Size
G crochet hook
1/2 oz
brown knitting
worsted yarn (4 ply)
small
amount of cream or white
colored yarn
thin
silky green or
red ribbon for bow.
2 wiggly
eyes per
man
(ch=chain,
sl=slip stitch, sc=single crochet, hdc=half double crochet, dc=double
crochet,
tr=triple crochet, dtr=double triple crochet)
BODY:
Rnd 1:
With brown ch 5, 2 sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in next 2 chs, 3 sc
in
last ch; now working in the free loops from your beginning ch, sc in
the
next 3 chs; join with a sl st; 10 sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc
in that same st and in the next st. Sc in the next 2 sc, 2 sc in
each of the next 3 sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc; join:
(you
now have 16 sc)
HEAD
[In the
same st work
(sc, hdc, dc, tr, 2 dtr), in next sc work (2 dtr, tr, dc, hdc, sc, sl
st)],
slip
st in next 2 sc,
ARM
Ch 5, dc in 3rd ch from the hook and in the
next 2 chs , slip st in next sc, sc in next 2 sc,
LEG
* sl st
in the next
sc, ch 6, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 3 chs, slip st in next
sc *, sc in next sc and repeat from * to * one time,
ARM #2
Then sc
in next 2
sc, sl st in next sc, ch 5, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 2 chs,
sl st in next sc.
Finish
off leaving 2" tail of yarn to weave back
through the back of the gingerbread boy.
EDGING:
Join
cream or white colored yarn to the last st, (on the top of the
gingerbread boy -
see above drawing) then sl st around the entire gingerbread
boy.
You can also do this by using a yarn needle and yarn and do a sewed
chain
stitch around the top of the boy.
Use
craft glue or hot
glue to stick on 2 wiggly eyes.
Add a
sew on pin or
glued pin to the back. You can also make this into a fridgie by
adding
a magnet strip. Or tie a piece of gold yarn to the top on the
head
and tie to a gift.
