Chuck Wagon Cookies
1 1/2 cups flour,
1/2 cup sugar,
1/2 tsp. baking soda,
1/2 tsp salt.
Cut in 1/2 cup shortening and 1/2 cup peanut butter until mixture resembles course meal.
Blend in 1/4 cup corn syrup and shape into a long roll, 2 inches in diameter and roll in wax paper. Chill 3-4 hours.
Cut into slices 1/8 inch thick an put on ungreased cookie sheet. Spread well with peanut butter and jam or jelly and put another slice on top seal with a fork.
Bake 350 for 10-12 minutes.
