PREEMIE PUFF BLANKET

(Multiple of 4 + 2 chs)
Size H hook and 2 oz of Simply Soft Yarn
Ch 66 loosely (this is 64 which is divisible by 4 + 2 more chs)  About 18" width
Newborn Sized blanket-- Ch 98  (approx. 27" wide)

Row 1: (Right side) Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (63 sc, 97 sc). Ch 1 and turn
NOTE: You can use a small piece of yarn around any stitch to mark the last row as the right side)

Row 2:
sc in first 4 sc, *[(YO and pull up a loop) 3 times in the next sc, YO and draw through all 7 loops on hook. (puff stitch made)], sc in next 3 sc; repeat from * across to last sc, sc in last sc. Ch 1 and turn.


Row 3:
Sc in each st across. Ch 1 and turn.


Row 4:
Sc in first 2 sc, work Puff st in next sc, *sc in next 3 sc, work Puff st in next sc, repeat from * across to last 2 sc, sc in last 2 sc. Ch 1 and turn.


Row 5:
Sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn.

Repeat rows 2-5 for pattern until blanket is about 18" square.

Edging:
With Right side facing join yarn of matching color in any corner of the blanket square. Sc in each st around, doing 3 sc at each corner.
Join with sl st at beginning at of that round. Now do a 2nd rnd of *
Ch 5, sk st, sc into the next sc. Repeat from * around, making 2 loops at corners.
