Bev's "Warm-Me Hat"

Ages 1-4 use a G hook and baby or sport weight yarn.

  Feel Good hat
The tri color hat was crocheted using "Feel Good Yarn" donated by LandsEnd to Warming Families Chapters for this project! Thanks LandsEnd!

Abbreviations used : Rnd = round  ch = chain; st = stitch; sl st = slip stitch; dc = double crochet; FPDC = front post double crochet

AGES 5-10 with (teens/womens) (mens)
G hook and 2 oz of worsted weight yarn, 3 oz for bigger sizes.

Ch 4, join to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), do 13 more dcs inside ring., join with a sl st in top of the first dc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in base of same stitch, *(dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeat from * around.  Dc in base of the ch 3, join with a sl st in top of the 1st dc. (21 dcs)

Rnds 3 and 4: Repeat rnd 2. (32 dcs) (41 dcs)
(for teens/womens hat do another row of increase
; for men do 2 more rows of increase)

Rnds 5 - 12: Ch 3, dc in  base of 1st dc and in each dc around including in base of the ch 3, join with a sl st in top of the 1st dc.
(Teens and women: 
Rnd 6 - 13: Ch 3, dc in  base of 1st dc and in each dc around including in base of the ch 3, join with a sl st in top of the 1st dc.)
(For Men: Rnd 7-14: Ch 3, dc in base of 1st dc and in each dc around, including in the base of the ch 3; join with a sl st in the top of the 1st dc.)

BRIM
Rnds 13 - 18:
Ch 3, FPDC in each dc around.  Do not FPDC in the Ch 3 though.  Join and end off. Weave extra yarn through stitches several times and cut.

(Larger hat for teens and women: Rnd 14 - 20 and men: Rnds 15 - 21: Ch 3, FPDC in each dc around.  Do not FPDC in the Ch 3.  Join and end off. Weave extra yarn through stitches several times and cut.
