Psalms. 145: 8
8 The LORD is gracious,
and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
(Christ is the God of
the Old Testament-- He is the great Jehovah.)
Mark 1:40-42
40 And there came a leper
to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him,
If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
41 And Jesus, moved with
compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him,
I will; be thou clean.
42 And as soon as he had
spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
Mark 5: 19
Howbeit Jesus suffered him
not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great
things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
Mark 6:34
34 And Jesus, when he came
out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them,
because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to cteach
them many things.
Luke 7:13
And when the Lord saw her,
he
had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
Luke 10:33
But a certain Samaritan,
as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion
on him.
2 Timothy 2:24
24 And the servant of the
Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach,
patient,
Titus 3:2
2 To speak evil of no man,
to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
James 3:17
17 But the wisdom that is
from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated,
full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
1 Peter 3:8
8 Finally, be ye all of one
mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful,
be courteous:
Alma 7:23
23 And now I would that ye
should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated;
full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being
diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever
things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning
thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive.
3 Nephi 17:6-9
6 And he said unto them:
Behold, my bowels are filled with compassion towards you.
7 Have ye any that are sick
among you? Bring them hither. Have ye any that are lame, or blind, or halt,
or maimed, or leprous, or that are withered, or that are deaf, or that
are afflicted in any manner? Bring them hither and I will heal them, for
I
have compassion upon you; my bowels are filled with mercy.
8 For I perceive that ye
desire that I should show unto you what I have done unto your brethren
at Jerusalem, for I see that your faith is sufficient that I should heal
you.
9 And it came to pass that
when he had thus spoken, all the multitude, with one accord, did go forth
with their sick and their afflicted, and their lame, and with their blind,
and with their dumb, and with all them that were afflicted in any manner;
and he did heal them every one as they were brought forth unto him.
D&C 133:52
And now the year of my redeemed
is come; and they shall mention the loving kindness of their Lord,
and all that he has bestowed upon them according to his
goodness, and according to
his loving kindness, forever and ever.
We need to give as Christ did and serve
one another
John 13:4-9, 14-17
4 He riseth from supper,
and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
5 After that he poureth water
into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with
the towel wherewith he was girded.
6 Then cometh he to Simon
Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said
unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
8 Peter saith unto him, Thou
shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou
hast no part with me.
9 Simon Peter saith unto
him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
14 If I then, your Lord and
Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an
example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say
unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is
sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things,
happy are ye if ye do them.
Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer
and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto
one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
