"The symbol of
Jesus and His place in our hearts must be a life given fully to His
service,
to loving and caring."
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there are some very basic things I believe about Jesus Christ. I know that He is God's only Begotten Son. He is the Savior of the world that He created. He came to teach us a higher law, a higher way to live. He suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, and was crucified on the cross. After He chose to die for you and I, He took up His spirit again, and rose from the dead. Many witnessed this and recorded it in the scriptures. Christ lives and He still loves every, single one of us, individually. On this web-page I want to write as many characteristics and personality traits as I can find in the scriptures, and through revelation from Prophets, and through our Hymns, so that we can learn who He was and thus strive to become more like Him. Obviously, Jesus Christ is our Savior. We cannot do this for ourselves or for others, but there are so many ways we can follow Him. "What manner of
men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am."3
Nephi 27:27
Jesus Christ IS our Lord and Savior
The
Lord revealed to Isaiah in the Old Testament, His mission - He is
Jehovah,
the God of the Old Testament.
Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. I am
the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
GODHEAD- The Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are one in purpose, NOT in body or essence When Christ was on earth and He was baptized there were definitely 3 separate beings present. (Matt. 3:16) 1) Jesus
Christ who was being baptized.
No question there, that they are and were separate. Clearly when Christ prayed He was not talking to Himself. He was addressing His Father in Heaven. He thanked His Father for hearing Him, as He went to raise Lazarus from the dead. The Son stated that He only did the things He had seen His Father do. They are ONE in purpose, always, and always will be. And He prayed that we become one as He and His Father are one. John 17:9-11 That does not mean we will become one being or essence. After His death and resurrection and appearance to Mary, He tells Mary not to touch Him because He is not yet Ascended to His Father in Heaven, but that He was going there and to tell His disciples that. How could he ascend to His Father if He and God were ONE essence? In Heb.
1:1-3 we read that after Christ had finished His work on
earth, He
ascended to His Father in Heaven and "sat down on the right hand of the
Majesty on High." He did not become the God/the Majesty on High, or
even
part of the Majesty on High; He simply took His place at the right hand
of His Father.
